I finally remembered my Vie Normande password, so I'm back!

Talking about passwords... My son and daughter 'kindly' signed me up to Facebook, but have forgotten my password. I'm aware that several people have asked me to be their friend, but I don't know what to do to accept them! Sorry, if I work it out I'll have lots of friends but, until then, I'm stuck!

Glad to see you are back again Maggie, at least here.

I'm afraid I'm not into Facebook (or fessebook as I have seen it called elsewhere) so can't help you with that. I suppose it will be bound to come sometime.

I think Judie has a Facebook account so maybe she can help.

I think you will probably need to start again Maggie and just put a link to your new page once you've set it up. Then your friends can just get in touch with you that way.

Oh, and make sure you write those passwords down!!

 Cool
Welcome back Maggie - sorry I can't help with your missing password but you may find the attached graph about Facebook of interest.

Yes, but the good thing is Kenny, you can refuse all those people you disliked.

I've just got back in touch with an old (boy)friend who became a minor pop/rock/punk/star and almost 40 years seems to be nothing when you start chatting about shared memories.

I use Facebook to keep in touch with family and friends (some 'met' on forums), and to hear from ex-students/colleagues. Sometimes reading what the students have written is a bit tricky, but I love to see them get married, have kids etc. I think it's a positive.

 Embarrassed
Sorry but I hope the graph I posted has been taken seriously - it wasn't meant to be - I found it among a collection of other spoof charts.
I too have used facebook - honestly - and have been in contact with a few people (as you say probably some selective care is needed).
On a somewhat separate thread, there was an interesting programme on TV recently that debated the open nature of the World Wide Web and the amount of personal information often freely provided on networks by individuals, many not realising there is every probability that it will remain there for others to see for decades to come.  So, while I don't want to seem like a person that looks for the negative side in everything, I remain cautious about putting too many personal details on the Internet.

I think I might have set up a Facebook account now. The odd thing is that I immediately received requests to be 'friends' with people I've never heard of. Don't they realise that I'm very choosy!!
